Doctor Brian C. Hanlon D.Ac, L.Ac., began his acupuncture journey as a result of a significant traffic accident, he had suffered injuries to his ankle and spine that ended his supply chain career. Western medicine reached the limit of what it could do for him, without more surgeries and endless pharmaceuticals.
Acupuncture helped him recover to a medication free, functional level and to feel hopeful about finding a new path in life. It was on an acupuncturist’s table that it occurred to him he had a calling to acupuncture. He asked her if she thought he could be an Acupuncturist and she didn’t hesitate to say, “Yes, you definitely could do Acupuncture” which surprised him.
He researched acupuncture schools and chose the Maryland University of Integrative Health, one of only three accredited acupuncture schools in the United States. In his 2500 clinical hours at school, he found a strong connection to treating patients suffering pain, stress, and anxiety of all kinds. In the course of this study he found an affinity for treating chronic drug resistant pain (CDRP) and Chinese medical obstetrics, particularly postpartum care which is virtually non-existent in western care.
Doctor Hanlon, shares a holistic philosophy that blends well with Structural Elements® integrative approach to treatment and restoring health which depends profoundly on tailoring treatment to the individual’s body, mind, spirit, and energy. He is deeply honored to join the Structural Elements® team and serve the greater Frederick Maryland community.
Brian has studied martial arts since the age of fourteen. He currently holds the second teaching license in Shinto Muso Ryu Chambers-Ha, Second Degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Karate and Jujitsu, a first degree black belt in Snow Tiger Gung Fu, and has practiced medical Qi Gong since beginning acupuncture school.
